Memories matter, which is why we are calling on all schools across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire to take part in Making Memories Day between 11th-15th July 2022.

We invite schools to support Making Memories Day by hosting a range of fun activities to help raise funds for local people affected by cancer. The possibilities are endless, and we would love to hear your creative ideas. Here are some suggestions to get you thinking: –

  • Creating a time capsule for your school/class
  • Asking each class to create a collage of their favourite memory
  • Holding a non-uniform day to help raise awareness
  • Running a drawing competition around a theme, e.g., what makes your pupils smile
  • Organising a bake sale
  • Holding a talent show

Prize up for grabs!
Every school that takes part will be entered into a prize draw to win a digital camera so they can capture more memories within their setting. Good luck!

Why your support matters
Lasting Memories Cancer Trust aims to make a difference to the well-being of people affected by cancer. We deliver services that provide people with opportunities to create lasting memories with their family and friends and help with financial hardship. People just like Michael, read his story here along with others we have helped here.

Your support will help others like Michael living in your community, possibly even siblings, parents or grandparents of your students. Cancer doesn’t discriminate and sadly 1 in 2 people will be affected in their lifetime.

As a voluntary run charity all funds raised by your school will help us reach more people.

We have created a range of resources for use in class including:

  • Templates to make your own bunting and flags
  • Posters to promote your fundraising events and support

We have set up a JustGiving page for Making Memories Day where your school can pay in your fundraising efforts at your convenience .

If you would prefer a different method, please get in touch with the team on

Thank You

We can’t wait to hear from you and see how you can support Making Memories Day 2022.
